A Free Opportunity to Connect Your Summer Program to NSLA’s National Network
Our president, Chris Cofer, attended NSLA’s Summer Solutions Leadership Forum back in January and saw firsthand the breadth of the network NSLA convenes across education, government, nonprofits, philanthropy, and youth development. He also left with the strong impression that colleges and universities and the many K–12, pre-college, bridge, access, enrichment, and workforce programs they operate or host are not yet as visible within the broader summer-learning field as they could be.
NAASS members are invited to join NSLA’s College Access and Summer Melt Professional Learning Community (PLC), led by Esteban Olivares, whom many of you know through his longstanding work in higher education summer programs and NAASS. The PLC is listed as “University Partnerships: Summer On-Campus Impact” on the NSLA registration form.
Participation is free. Members can expect:
- Three focused virtual PLC sessions each year, with recordings available to all who register
- Peer exchange, surveys, field scans, and practical planning resources
- Guest speakers and subject-matter experts
- Connections to school districts, community-based organizations, funders, government agencies, and workforce partners
- Access to NSLA research, professional learning, national events, recognition opportunities, and program-visibility resources
- A year-round calendar connecting PLC activities with opportunities across both NSLA and NAASS
For NAASS members, this is more than another webinar series. It is an opportunity to connect campus-based summer programs to a broader national ecosystem that can support visibility, partnerships, access, program quality, and growth.

Attached are a personal introduction from Esteban and a two-page overview of what members can expect during the 2026–2027 year.
We hope you will take a look, consider joining, and share the opportunity with colleagues on your campus who lead summer, K–12, pre-college, bridge, college-access, residential, enrichment, or workforce-connected programs.
