Joint Statistical Report Preview

The Joint Statistical Report of Summer Sessions (JSR) has two intended purposes. The primary purpose is to provide comparative information on college and university summer sessions for use by members of the sponsoring associations for benchmarking, evaluating, and improving summer session programming at their institutions. The second purpose is to provide usable data for the overall advancement of summer session and its importance to the instruction of students and successful operation of higher education enterprises.

The JSR is sponsored by the North American Association of Summer Sessions (NAASS) and the Association of University Summer Sessions (AUSS). It is based upon a survey of institutional members. The JSR survey instrument collects information on both the overall institutional environment as well as the structures and operations more specific to the summer session function. The survey asks about specific inputs to summer session functions including faculty, courses offered, and marketing. The primary outcome of summer session was defined as enrollments as measured in both headcount and student credit hour values.

Data collected from the JSR is presented in an interactive dashboard available to members.
